The magnitude 7.0-earthquake took place in Sichuan Ya’an Lushan County at 8:02am on April 20, which has caused 44 deaths (as of 12:45pm on the same day). Right after the earthquake, Fosun Group informed all staff in Sichuan enterprises to pay attention to safety, and actively cooperated with relevant departments of the local government to organize rescue and relief activities. At 10:00am, the newly established Fosun Pharma Public Welfare Foundation called on Fosun Pharma, Chongqing Yao Pharma and other Fosun Pharma’s investment enterprises to organize the first batch of relief urgent drugs, tents and other materials with total value of RMB2 million. The included relief materials were Yunnan Baiyao aerosol, Yunnan Baiyao powder, Band-Aid, Cephradine, medical gauze, alcohol cotton ball, disinfectant, bandage, etc., which were the most urgent needed material in the earthquake zone. These drugs and materials would be urgently delivered to the disaster area with the help of Juneyao Airlines, a subsidiary of Juneyao Group. Due to the close of Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport, the materials were expected to be arrived at Chongqing at 8:00pm that evening, and to be delivered to the disaster area by the local Red Cross.

Mr.Guo Guangchang, the Chairman of Fosun Group said that Fosun Pharma would pay close attention to the situation in disaster areas and provide more targeted supports as needed.
